Garlic Bread Disaster

DH picked the kids up from school yesterday. Izabella's had an early dismissal d/t the snow. So he decided to hit Wal-Mart before coming home to pick up a few things. He comes home and the kids can't wait to tell me that I get to do nothing because Daddy and them are going to make me dinner. I bit of dread comes over me at that point. I don't know why but it did. So they make the meal and in the middle of it there is a knock at the door DH answers it, ends up pointing in all different directions while this couple is doing the same. The kids run off to their rooms and I'm suddenly alone thinking, Ok what about the dinner that is cooking? So I go in the kitchen and check on this, finish that....nobody came back. Garlic bread was sitting on the counter so I decided to pop in in the oven. People start appearing again and ask me what I'm doing in the kitchen because they are the ones cooking...yeah, it looks like it. DH and I are in the kitchen talking about a lost dog (which is what all the finger pointing was about). I just get to the part where I hope they find their dog because it's such a horrible night out when I see black smoke start to pour out of the oven. It's the garlic bread! It was black. The one thing that I did burned to a crisp! LOL I heard about it all night.

My Thursday Meeting With The School.

Last week was Kindergarten registration week. Evan is only 4 but I went to sign him up because he's my kid and he's REALLY smart...of course he is, his mother's a freakin' genius. lol Ok, I wouldn't go as far as saying that but the real reason I went to sign him up is because his birthday is Aug. 25th. To get into kindergarten your birthday must be at an earlier date in Aug. (can't remember the exact date). I'm not pushing him and I'm sure some of my mommy friends will say that I am but he already knows alot. He can do easy addition (1+1, 3+4), he can recognize his name and wrights his full name...this is all stuff they don't teach until Kindergarten. He will be totally bored in pre-school another year. This year they learned colors and shapes! He knew that two years ago. Every child entering kindergarten has to take the test but Evan will be taking an additional test that will make sure he's ready emotionally. Some kids are fast learners but are still not emotionally ready. He's only taking this extra test d/t his age.
Okay, so back to the test morning. I signed him up on Tuesday morning and made an appointment for Thursday morning for him to test, so that gave me Wednesday to run around like a mad woman trying to get updated shot records, birth certificate and a million other things I had to do on Wednesday. Some things had to be done. I had a parent/teacher conference at the pre-school, Mimi had to be picked up from the vet, I had to go to the bank, the store, pay a bill or two and back to the store. I had to go to the health dept to get the birth certificate...and btw, it's WAY too easy for anyone to walk in there and get a birth certificate. I finally get home and have to leave again to pick Izabella up but then I'm DONE! The next morning DH is home and I have to get everyone ready because our testing appointment is early. So I'm rushing everyone, getting cranky because I shouldn't have to tell DH to get dressed as much as I tell the kids to! So we finally get out the door on time and we're on our way. We walk into the school, kiss Izabella goodbye while she goes to her class and head to the office. We get there, we wait. The secretary finally shows up and says, "Weren't you guys just here." I said, "Yes, the day before yesterday and I haven't stopped since." Then she says, "Did you need something else?" I said that we were hear for Evan's testing and that's when she tells me the testing is NEXT Thursday!

"You're Gonna Learn To Respect Me!"

This video is unbelievable! I would love to spend 5 minutes with this woman! What the heck is wrong with her? How can she do that to a child (maybe even her own child!)? Really, some people should get tested before they have kids. You should be made to take a psych test before bringing kids into this world for the good of the child. Unbelievable.

More Snow Coming (Give Me A Break Already!!!)...And A Bling

Lovely. Another flippin storm coming. Crazy. Just crazy. WTH? Hopefully this is the last one of the year? I doubt it. The kids already have to make up 3 snow days this summer. That isn't so bad I guess and it's not even that. I don't care if the kids are home with me every single day (ok, that may be a bit much) but it's not the kids being home; it's the snow falling from the sky. It's only pretty and enjoyable on Christmas day. There really is no need for it any other day of the year.

Ok, so here's a heart bling I made tonight. I was just messing around but I hate to trash it so I'll share it. Here's what it looks like.

The Secret Life Of A Soccer Mom...

The Secret Life of a Soccer Mom will be showing on TLC on Mondays. It looks like it's going to be very interesting to watch. It takes mothers back to the life/job they would have had had they not taken the path they have taken to lead them where they are now. They will be able to "go back in time" and take the other path and see how that would have worked out. I'm sure some mothers long for the path that they did not take but would also never give up what they now have.
The show is hosted by Tracey Gold (Kirk Cameron's little sister in 'Growing Pains') and you can preview the show and get the schedule here.

Chop Chop!

While eating my cranberry, walnut and grilled chicken salad from Bob Evans today (TMI I know but it's really good people), I had a sudden urge to cut my hair. DH said maybe tomorrow but I didn't want to wait so when we came home I handed him the scissors and said "Do it". You know guys, they act like they have no clue about something so they can get out of it so after he fumbled and complained the scissors were too dull I took them and finished the job. All of a sudden he says, "Just pay to have someone do it!" Muah-ha-ha...no! By then I was already in the midst of it. I saved myself some money (because I'm frugal like that LOL) and it doesn't look so bad. I may have it redone when I go to get my color done but who really cares. It's just a simple cut that you don't have to be real intelligent or talented to do.

So here it is.

Ahh! I feel so much better.

Yummo!

My favorite thing in the whole entire world right now (besides The Hubbs and kids of course) is Green tea. OMG, I can't get enough of it. I stopped drinking coffee so this is my substitute. No caffeine and it's pretty good. I drink about 20 cups a day though and because of that I've taken up stock in Crest Whitening. LOL Green tea is my new vise now. I haven't smoked in almost 7 years and now no caffeine...Yikes! I'm doing good though. I do put 2 tspns of sugar in it though. Ugh! I'm weening myself from that though. Ok, I'm doing the math....20 cups of tea x 2 tspns of sugar per cup = a big arse. Photobucket

"Yummo" is brought to us by Rachael Ray who has said that word so much that it has recently been added to the dictionary. True fact.

Yessss!

Ohio and Texas! I was up all night waiting for the results and giving DH the play-by-play over the phone. LOL She scared me in Texas at the begining but slid by which is all that matters. I know I'm a dork but I was so excited to be able to vote in the primary. And my vote actually counted this time. Lord knows when I voted against "W" it didn't count for jack.

What A Beautiful Day...Too Bad I Didn't Enjoy It.

It was so nice and warm today. My kind of weather for sure. I've felt horrible since yesterday so I can't really enjoy it. I feel like I have a stomach bug or something. I'm not really horribly ill but I just feel like yuck!

So I pick Evan up from pre-school today and the teacher tells me that he was playing and him and a little girl bumped into each other. Her head hit his nose and she said he cried and cried and only stopped when it was time to go home. I explained to her about how his nose may be broken (which is why he was not in school last Friday) and that it would take almost a week to figure out if it is indeed broken. Now he's gotten bopped in the nose again. Ugh! That boy needs a bubble.

My sister is flying with my niece down to Florida in the morning to attend my grandmothers funeral. She wanted me to go but there are several reasons why I'm not going. My main thing is that I don't want to remember her like that. I want to remember her in front of the Fountain Bleu saying goodbye like that.
This will be my nieces first plane ride! I'm sure she'll enjoy it and I would love to see her face! It's just too bad she's going under these circumstances.

The Day Is Over.

Thank goodness! I'm over this day. It has been so blah. I'm still upset and sad about the news that my grandmother died last night. I really feel awful for my grandfather because he loves her so much and now she's gone. I don't know what he's going to do with himself. It's such a sad thing.
I said my goodbyes to her in front of the Fontainebleau Hotel. She knew and I knew that that was our last goodbye. That helps a lot but at the same time it's very strange and sad to know you're saying goodbye to your grandmother for the last time. You want to remember every second of that. I remember her whispering in my ear, "Goodbye. I love you. Remember that." Then she turned around and got in the car because we were both crying.
I'm glad I at least had the chance to do that with her and say goodbye. Some dearly loved people have just been taken without a chance for goodbye.
She was loved and she'll be missed and I'll forever see her standing sideways for the camera. LOL
