Horshoes
I've been trying to figure out the best way to hang horseshoes this morning. Up or down? Old or new? I Googled it and now I'm more confused. If you find one or are given one then the luck goes to the original owner. Even if you hang it in your house. You can't buy one because that doesn't work. It has to be a horseshoe from your horse. My horses don't wear shoes because they don't go on pavement so I will have to shoe one to get some "good" horseshoes.
So many rules.
So do I get more luck if I shoe a regular size horse and less luck if I shoe one of my miniature horses?
I learned that in the US you hang it like a "U" to catch the luck. In other countries you hang it upside down so the luck pours onto you. We have a bunch of upside down horseshoes on our property and I was confused but we bought the property off of a Mexican family so that would explain that.

Jack-Jack Week 7
This week your baby has an amazing growth spurt. At the beginning of this week, your baby is approximately 4 to 5 mm and by the end of the week it has more than doubled to 11 to 13 mm! Your baby weights approximately 0.03 ounces. Most women are ready for the world to know they are pregnant. Even though you have not changed very much yet, it will come soon! You might have gained a small amount of weight by now, but it should only be a couple of pounds at this time. It is not unusual to lose a few pounds or remain the same though. Internally, cervical mucus is thickening and will form a plug in the cervical canal. The plug seals your cervix throughout the pregnancy and it will be expelled prior to delivery when your cervix begins to dilate.
Your baby's leg and arm buds are longer now and they have divided into segments where the hands and feet will be. The hands and feet also have an area where the fingers and toes will begin to form. At this point of your pregnancy, the heart is bulging grom the body and it has divided into right and left chambers. The brain's hemispheres are continuing to grow and the air passages into the lungs are visible. Your baby's eyes are begiining to get pigment. The nose is developing and the beginning of the face can be seen. The baby's abdomen is developing quickly and the appendix and pancreas are already present. Your baby's digestive tract is beginning to form and the hindgut is present. The shape of the talk can still be seen, but it will fade in 3 or 4 weeks.

Uncle Jay & The Truckers Strike & PSP Shares
So whoever hasn't heard yet, a lot of the independent truck drivers will be going on strike starting tomorrow (April 1st). Nope, it isn't an April Fools joke. They are fed up with the diesel prices. I know it's hitting big in our house. Companies want their loads moved but are not willing to pay a higher rate to help the truckers pay for the fuel.
I heard something tonight about the Cattleman's Assoc. also going on strike and they are supposed to stop sending out beef but I haven't verified that one yet. I just got a phone call saying to stock up on beef. We don't eat that much beef here. Not beef from the store anyway.
Ok, that's that.
I've been really sick lately so I haven't done any more psp shares. I have someone in my guestbook who asked about it but I really haven't had time to open up psp and make anything to share. I'm glad you like it but I haven't done anything extraordinary. :o)Just doodling. I have a few tags to make for people and I'm behind. I just hope everyone bears with me for another week. I'm sure I'll feel better by then. I better.
Uncle Jay is really funny today. Enjoy and visit his channel. There's a link in the last Uncle Jay post.

I'm Fascinated With The Buzzards & Never Have My Camera!!
Buzzards are pretty nasty I'm sure we'd all agree. They have a job though and they do it well. It's not a pleasant thing to watch them but I've been dying to get a good picture of them. Not eating their carcass prize but they do this amazing thing where they all (at the same time) spread their wings as far as they can and they all look up to the sky at the same time. It is one of the most beautiful things I've seen (and from such a gross bird!). Since we've raised birds like pheasants, turkey, chickens, chukar, peacocks and we have quail outside right now, I know that all the buzzards are doing when they do this awesome looking pose is drying their wings or cooling off but seeing them all do it at the exact same time is truly amazing. One or two doing it is not that amazing but when you see 10 of them all doing it, some on the ground, some on haystacks and some on fence posts is something to see. And darn it! every time I see it I'm driving and don't have my camera!
Jack-Jack Week 6
When talking about the size of a developing baby, most healthcare providers will discuss the size in terms of `crown-to-rump` length. Crown-to-rump length simply means the distance from the top of the baby's head to its buttocks. Because the baby's legs are usually bent or tucked inwards, crown-to-heel length is hard to determine. By the sixth week of pregnancy, your developing baby is 2 to 4 mm long. You may have even gained a few pounds at this point. However, if you have been nauseated or not eating well you might have lost weight. Which is NOT me since I've not been puking at all!!
From week 6 to week 10 of your pregnancy, you will be in the embryonic period. This is a very important time of development for your baby and the embryo is most suscpetible to experience developmental interferences at this time. Although the embryo is still very small, it is growing and developing rapidly. Your baby's early brain chambers are forming and the eyes are also beginning to form. Buds will appear and will develop into arms and legs in later weeks.
The heart is starting up. The fetus` blood group may be different from your own!

Facial features are visible, including a mouth and tongue. The eyes have a retina and lens.
The digestive system starts forming, beginning with the first cells of the stomach and the intestine.
There are small indentations in the head, ready for the development of facial features, eyes, and ears. The outline of the jaw starts to form.

Dinner And A Brain Fart.
So I'm making dinner. I have a Betty Crocker box of something (because I just discovered them and they are soooo easy!!). I'm looking at the box and I think, "Well this isn't going to be enough." I proceed to open the box, take out a baking dish, look at the box again and then decide to reach for another baking dish. I then take the one box and divide it between the two baking dishes. I'm proud of myself at this point so I go ahead and cover them and pop them in the oven. I go about my whatever I do and all of a sudden it hits me.
I'm such an idiot!
It turned out to be enough. LOL
